The Fredericksburg area is my home! I was raised on a farm in King George County so you might say that I’m “locally grown.” With the exception of a few years that I lived in the Atlanta region, I have spent my entire life in this area and have many fond memories of growing up here. Even though the Fredericksburg area has experienced tremendous growth over the past 25 or 30 years, we have luckily maintained our southern hospitality and charm. We have all of the amenities of a large city yet we live and work as though we’re in a small town, which I love.
Back in 2004, after spending many years in the accounting and budgeting field, I decided that I wanted to change course and to get involved in my local community. I was looking for a profession where I could apply my analytical skills and attention to detail while making a difference in the lives of my neighbors and friends. Since I love being with people, a career in real estate seemed like the perfect fit for me. I have never looked back and know that this was the right decision since I have sincerely enjoyed every minute as a REALTOR®. Then in 2016 I decided to increase my real estate knowledge and skills and obtained my Associate Broker’s license.
Since beginning my real estate career, I have had the pleasure of helping many sellers and buyers with a huge life decision. As a mother of two adult sons and two grandchildren, I typically project my “nurturing” tendencies onto my clients. I thrive on being a trusted advisor . . . enjoy counseling and consulting with my clients and building close relationships. It is extremely satisfying to add them to my “family.” Since most of my business is based on personal referrals, I feel that they appreciate the guidance and personal care that I provide. Over the years, many of my clients have become good friends so who could ask for more!!
Not only do I enjoy helping my clients but I also love volunteering with my local REALTOR® association (Fredericksburg Area Association of REALTORS®). This is my fifth year on the Board of Directors – served for the past two years as Treasurer and am currently serving as Vice President. My involvement with my Association has given me the opportunity to build strong working relationships with my colleagues which has proved to be invaluable in getting homes bought and sold for my clients.
I have a BS in Business Education from Longwood University and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Also I have held an active CPA license for over 20 years. On a more personal note, I have been married for 45 years to my high school sweetheart.
