Where: The Black Sheep Restaurant, Gainesville, VA
Are you looking for a fun night out with food in a one-of-a-kind dining location? Look no further than the Black Sheep Restaurant in Gainesville! Dine under the lights of a chandelier in their historic two-story dairy barn, or in one of their several private dining spaces. If the weather is perfect you can enjoy drink and dining in their outdoor area.
If you’re a fan of a little showmanship with your dinner, you can’t go wrong with starting off with their ‘Bacon Tower’. This shared dish comes to your table on a small clothesline and then the service cooks it using a small torch, right at your table side, and yes, and tastes as good as it sounds! For those who prefer a plant-based app, the crispy ‘Patatas Bravas’ served with garlic aioli and spicy tomato sauce is a yummy choice! There really is something for everyone at The Black Sheep.
As far as libations go, The Black Sheep has an expansive beverage menu featuring both signature and rotating seasonal cocktails, as well as dozens of wines to choose from to pair with your meal. Some of our favorites from the beverage menu are ‘Black Sheep Old Fashioned’ and the ‘Cucumber Cooler.
Circling back to their food options, other standouts from their menu that make great appetizers to share with the table are the ‘Chef’s Ceviche’ from their raw bar menu, ‘Baked Lobster Mac & Cheese’, and the ‘Beet Salad’. After you’ve enjoyed their apps, the entrees that are sure to not disappoint include the ‘Beef Bulgogi’, ‘Seared Scallops’, and the seasonal ‘Fall Pasta’, all of which we can confirm are five out of five.
Hopefully, you saved some room for dessert as you won’t want to miss trying the super creamy ‘salted Crème Brûlée’ topped with fresh strawberries or the mouth-watering ‘Baked Alaska”.
Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time before swinging by to ensure a table if you plan on dining at dinner time as they book up quickly!
