Jumping out of airplanes, 12 mile marches, 5 a.m. workouts turned to showing clients houses, listing homes, and closing deals in the blink of an eye.
My name is James Anderson, and my journey into Real Estate has been what feels like an inevitable one. I've always loved helping people and as a young man I wanted to fulfill that passion by joining the military. In an instant filling in the graduation seats single-file turned to 4 a.m. ruck marches in full gear. Cap tosses turned to grenade throwing practice. Sleeping in on a Saturday morning became a 24-hour guard duty shift.
Fast forward to April, 2015, a routine, mass night jump combat training exercise and a bad landing would end my entire military career. 18 months of neurosurgeons, physical therapy, and re-meeting the love of my life (a whole story of its own!), and just like *that* I found myself back home in Virginia building my next chapter. I accepted a job for an insurance company, considering the starting pay was great for someone who was used to making $20,000 a year! I worked my way up the corporate ladder, and the salary ladder. But I still felt the urge to serve.
After our daughter was born, that feeling only grew larger. I was laid off just after her 2nd birthday, and I took advantage of my opportunity! In my first year of real estate I was blessed to have helped some amazing people find/sell their homes and I was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award and I haven't slowed down since! Someone once told me," Your clients aren't just clients. They're people that will sit around a fire with you, people you'd drive out and help change a flat or take gas to. People that say happy birthday and wish you happy holidays. Treat them like people." I live by that advice, professionally and personally.
