"Oops! We're pregnant...Let's get married..."
At the age of twenty-two, those life-changing words derailed this small town Iowa boy's Hollywood dreams of becoming the next great special effects movie monster maker and left me with three, less than desirable options to try and support a new family: scrape by on short-lived film gigs, temporarily retreat to the depths of a parent's basement until we could figure things out, or take a wild card leap of faith and accept a job offer from a family ran business in Virginia as a home improvement sales consultant; working in an industry where I had ZERO knowledge, ZERO professional sales experience, ZERO marketable degrees and ZERO guarantee of income. Yikes. Guided by my youthful ignorant optimism, I decided to roll the dice and took a chance with the wild card.
Thankfully, the gamble paid off.
Amazingly, what followed was twenty-five years of top-tier honors in Fortune 500 sales, earning nationwide recognition at two household-name companies all while building a loyal, referral-driven career entirely from scratch. I'm going to shoot you straight — I'm still new to real estate. I respect you too much to frame it any other way. But I've spent three decades mastering the skills that win for clients: listening carefully, discovering what truly matters to you, cutting through the noise to find the right fit, and refusing to quit on the people counting on me.
That's exactly the philosophy I'm bringing to real estate — and to you.
Beyond earning top honors at two Fortune 500 companies across two completely different industries, this Spotsylvania husband to Robin, amateur photographer, seasonal monster maker and dog-loving dad of three was also a recent winner and consecutive three-time finalist in The Free Lance Star's "Best of the 'Burg" annual reader competition in the Professional Services category — voted on by this very community.
